This product is ‘designed for circular’. That means it can be recycled once you’re done with it. Isn’t that the case for all clothing? Sadly no, as you can read below. Luckily, this product is made from natural, biodegradable fibres that can be completely recovered.

Did you know?

Most clothing is made from a mix of materials that make them unfit for recycling. Specialised recycling companies find it too hard, too expensive or simply impossible to separate the different components.

So what happens?

Clothing that you return for recycling is often offered to NGOs like the Salvation Army. But the fast fashion quality is so bad that they find it unfit for second-hand use. So it's sold to traders.

Through these traders, big bales of clothing end up on African markets, where a small percentage is sold as second hand clothes. But most of it is unwearable, so the huge majority of western clothing is thrown away on landfills where they are burned, or wash into the sea ... because there is no such thing as 'away'.
